Time to blog some more!!!!
I just created my own (free) [[App.net]] Account.
My wife’s Christmas present was a 5gal Carboy, corks, an device to put corks into wine bottles and a book about [[Mead]] making.
The last weekend in 2012 we had the time to get 15lbs of honey and start our experiment to make Mead.
Right now I have a 5gal bucket of Honeywater mixed with yeast and yeast nutrient in my dining room bubbling every couple of seconds trough its air lock. Let’s hope it turns out good.

A friend had a Reggae Show in Rockland Harbor, it was a pretty nice day and i made a lot of neat pictures from Rockland, Maine, here are a couple. I made it all the way out to [[Rockland Harbor Breakwater Light]] (4300 ft or 1300 m), quite a walk.
Just bundled my Website together with my Facebook Account, lets see how that will work out.
Facebook released an App for [[Wordpress]] earlier this week. I suppose to tie a Blog and a Facebook Account together. I’m extremely curious how this will work out.
Sometimes when they promise a Snow storm there is one coming π
After 10 years i managed to get myself some glasses. They are awesome light and very comfortable to wear. Without them i’m so blind now. π
it was a weird one. A Friend of my Woman got diagnosed with Lung Cancer a couple of Weeks ago, her prognoses was that she had 2 Weeks left. A devastating message.
My wife was visiting her a couple of days later, she was dancing at home and found her Peace. Then we visited her “Going Away” Party. It is a weird feeling when you know that when you leave that party it is very likely you never see that person again. The Party itself wasn’t sad more like a normal Birthday Party or some Family & Friend gathering. But there was a long Line and everybody wanted to see her. She mad a sick but happy impression but it still was weird to see her saying good bye.
A couple of days ago she passed away, it was sad but expected. A good friend is gone, we will never see her again (but we will have some Margaritas and remember her ).
I used [[Ubuntu]] for a couple of years, i liked the fixed Release Schedule, the new Features and the Hardware Compatibility. I think Ubuntu did a lot for bringing the Linux DesktopΒ OS to the Mainstream Customers.
But now i switched to (back) [[Fedora]]. I always liked Fedora but for some strange Reason it never liked my Hardware. But it works very neat on my new HP Laptop .
My Wife and i visited Schulte & Herr today. It is a german Restaurant in Downtown Portland, ME.
It was really neat. It is funny to see other People react when they tasted food the first time, you had all your life. My Wife had Bratwurst and Sauerkraut. Born and raised in [[Thuringia]] i have to say: our Bratwurst is better but my Wife loved hers π
I had Goulash which was pretty good.
The place itself could need a little more Interior Design but I’m pretty sure that will come in the Future.
We will be back there to check out the Breakfast Menu π
After my Laptop got stolen i had to find a new Workhorse for every Day use. I liked my old 14 inch HP Pavilion, so why not look at the successor.
So here it is. MY new HP Pavilon dm4. It has a DVD Drive now but i’m not sure if i will ever use it ;-).
IΒ even started the preinstalled Windows 7 once (had to remove all the Crap Software that comes with it), just to shrink the Windows Partition to make some Space for Linux.
Right now i’m running Ubuntu 11.10 which is still just a Beta Release (and you see it on some Edges). It took a while to get all the Software i need, installed. At this occasion i stopped working with [[xampp]] and started to work with the LAMPP Stack that comes with Ubuntu.
But back to the Laptop, the Battery Life is very good for me, you can work more than half a day away from the Cord. It has all standard Ports (USB, HDMI, Cardreader). It also has a Fingerprint Reader which is a funny Gimmick but i don’t think that i will use itΒ a lot.
The Laptop has a Downside: It’s case feels very good to touch but boy it loves Fingerprints ;-). I don’t really care about it but after one week this Laptop has more fingerprints than the average Crime Scene ;-).
For me it is a very neat Laptop to work with every Day. And finally here are the Pictures:
